about our schoolTraining in Moo Gong Do can be fun and rewarding for anyone, our schools are a safe, clean environment for you to discover your hidden potentials and to assist you in becoming the type of Martial Artist that you desire to be. All our schools are family oriented and offer an environment that promotes give and take and co-operative learning. Men, Women and Children all train together and share the same training area as we can all learn from each other. Learning to have respect for one’s self and others is an important part of training and by training with people who may be bigger or smaller, younger or older, Senior or Junior etc., we are able to learn to work at different levels. Your growth is a direct result of your efforts and your ability to follow the system that is Moo Gong Do. What you learn at each belt level, physically, mentally and spiritually helps to prepare you for the next step, not only in rank but in life. Each level presents you with new ideas, philosophies and challenges. At each level you not only learn new physical techniques such as punching, kicking, forms, one-steps, etc. you also learn philosophical lessons that can be applied both inside and outside of the school. The entire school environment is designed to provide a disciplined learning experience that is positive, and challenging. From this type of training you will find that you feel more energetic, more alert, and more aware of yourself. Growth in Moo Gong Do is an extension of your training. While the schools are here to teach and support you, training on your own is key to your success. Grandmaster Kim teaches us that we are part of Nature and not separate from it. Training outdoors - whether it is in our backyard, a park, a mountain top or at the beach - is essential to our understanding of the Universe and to our Personal Growth. As you progress in your training and understanding you will have the opportunity to work with Traditional Weapons such as Jang Bong(Long Staff), Joong Bong(Intermediate Staff), and Dan Bong(Short Staff) - including spear and sword applications. Weapons can be both a fun and exciting part of your training and can open a door to more advanced growth and understanding. |
